The Texas Space Coast

At the southern tip of Texas, South Padre Island sits between the Laguna Madre and the Gulf, joined to Port Isabel by the Queen Isabella Causeway. Across Brazos Santiago Pass to the south is Boca Chica, home of SpaceX's Starbase, which became its own Texas city in 2025. Laguna Vista sits on the bay side, a short drive from the causeway. Launch days bring crowds to the island and the beaches, and a growing workforce is looking for places to live. It is the most talked-about stretch of the Texas coast right now, and we cover every town on it.

The Coastal Bend
